How to Feminize Your Winter Look (MTF Transgender / Crossdressing Tips)
Jan 17th, 2016 by

There are so many things that go into perfecting your feminine look…

Now that it’s the dead of winter (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), you’ve got the added challenge of freezing temps.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t look feminine and sexy despite the cold!

Here are 3 tips – specifically for crossdressers and MTF transgender women – on how to feminize your look for the winter.

1. Wear a shape-enhancing coat

winterlook-1

Your coat is the first thing people see when it’s cold. In fact, it might be the ONLY thing they see you in, so it’s an important piece in your feminine wardrobe.

Here are some dos and don’ts to consider:

  • DON’T add unnecessary bulk with a puffy or oversized coat.
  • DO try a belted coat to shape your waist.
  • DON’T wear double breasted coats if you have a wide chest. (Single breasted styles are more slimming)
  • DO look for coats with princess seams or pleats and gathers around the hips to feminize your shape.

2. Go for bright colors

Don’t blend in with the gray, dreary weather. The best way to look pretty this time of year is to wear bright colors.

Instead of a basic black winter coat, why not try something fun? Coats come in a rainbow of colors these days and range from pastels to jewel tones.

If a neutral coat is more your style, you can still add a touch of bold color with your scarf, hat, and gloves.

3. Choose the right boots

Wearing cute boots is the best part about cold weather!

But if you’re walking on ice and slush, heels are a nightmare. This does NOT mean you must resort to chunky, unattractive snow boots.

Instead, look for boots with a wedge heel. The height of a heel adds sex appeal, while a rubber wedge sole gives you traction so you don’t slip.

Even if you don’t go outside en femme, these tips can still apply. Why not be a snow bunny for your next private photo shoot? You don’t have to show skin to look sexy!

I’d love to see your favorite winter look, so please share your photos below!

Hiding Your Adam’s Apple Tips for MTF Transgender and Crossdressing
Aug 29th, 2014 by Aleya-t

I always say it’s the details that make or break your feminine image. This is definitely true of an Adam’s apple!

Reducing the visibility of your Adam’s apple will make you look and feel more feminine.

The good news is that there are some easy ways to disguise your Adam’s apple. And they don’t require surgery!

Read on to learn more:

1. Tie on a scarf

I believe that every crossdresser and transgender woman should have a collection of beautiful scarves in her wardrobe.

Tying a scarf around your neck not only hides an Adam’s apple, it adds a flattering pop of color to your face. Two problems solved with one accessory!

2. Apply contouring makeup

Another easy way to downplay your Adam’s apple is to apply contouring makeup over the protruding area. Choose a color that’s one to two shades darker than your natural skin tone.

Dark colors make an area look smaller. This visually reduces the size of your Adam’s apple.

See the video below for a quick tutorial:

3. Wear a high collared top

High collared tops are great for hiding the side view of an Adam’s apple.

Look for shirts and jackets with collars that stand up around the neck. Ruffled collars are especially feminine and flattering.

4. Choose the right hairstyle

Long hair that curls around the neck is a great hairstyle for hiding an Adam’s apple. The length and shape make the Adam’s apple less visible from the side.

A bad hairstyle would be a bob that cuts off right at the level of your Adam’s apple. It draws the eye to that area – NOT what you want to do!

5. Swallow when posing for photos

Your Adam’s apple is less visible when you swallow. Use this knowledge to your advantage when taking photos!

I suggest practicing in front of a mirror first: Swallow about halfway and hold. The trick is to keep your face relaxed (and smile!) while you do this.

Permanent Adam’s apple reduction

The tips above are the easiest ways to disguise your Adam’s apple, but what if you are looking for a more permanent solution?

Tracheal shaving is a common male to female procedure. This surgery reduces the cartilage of the Adam’s apple and gives the neck a more feminine contour.

The procedure costs around $ 4,000-$ 7,000 in the U.S. Like all surgery, it’s not without risks. The biggest risks include unsightly scarring on the neck and/or damage to the voice box.

Are you bothered by your Adam’s apple?

As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

  • Is your Adam’s apple a concern or are you blessed with a feminine neck?
  • Have you had surgery? If so, are you glad you did it?
  • Do you have any other Adam’s apple disguising tips you can share with us?
